Market Harborough Squash Club
30 May 2019
Market Harborough Squash Club is really pleased to be part of the Harborough Lotto.
It has given us the opportunity to raise some additional funds, through members and others supporting our cause.
Like a lot of sports clubs, running the facilities and teams can be expensive and sometimes some of the little things that can make a big difference to the whole experience of playing at the club that need to be done slip down the priority list.
By focusing on a single project for the Lotto funds to go towards, means that one of these areas is now being sorted.
The changing rooms need quite a bit of work to upgrade them from being just about functional to an area people will use - if they have a good showering facility they may then feel like staying and socialising, using the bar after their game. This then helps raise further funds for the Club and also makes it a more welcoming place for people to come.
The work has started, with a new boiler and showers, and now the decorating is beginning. The £650 raised will go towards this.
We will continue to use Social Media and our newsletters to promote the Lotto and during our upcoming Festival of Squash Fortnight, we will plan to handout some flyers to raise further awareness of it, particularly to some of our newer members that may not know what it is about.
We are currently rebranding our coaching at the club to Harborough Squash Academy, to encompass coaching for all ages and abilities and next years money will go towards further work on upgrading our noticeboards including getting an interactive noticeboard to promote events.
Thanks once again to Harborough Lotto for its support!
